The Last few trips have seen some of the best action of the year. All groups have seen plenty of bites, with everyone achieving their 3 man limit. We haven’t seen the super Jumbos, but plenty of Roaster size fish up to 12 pounds released. Looks like some crappy weather for the next few day, hopefully back at it next week. Thanks Guys!!
Some Very pretty healthy releases for the last 3 trips we have run. Largest release was landed by a very talented angler who likes to remain anonymous 🤣 at 19+ pounds, and 29”. Few other fish in the 16-15 pound ranges, and some smaller DD releases.
Fishing hasn’t been lock and load, but some nice fish every day. Today saw the nicest chew we have had in awhile. Guys kept their boat rule limit, and released a few more up to 16 pounds.
We have seen some very large fish this year with 3 over 20, and 4 at 19 pounds. All that were healthy enough to go back did. We truly do have some awesome customers. Thanks Guys!!
Yesterdays open boat trip saw some action with some very pretty fish 9 fish over 10. Our largest fish was Chris’s 30” 20 1/2 pounder, followed by his 17+ pound release. Gregg had a 16 pound release, Sunny had a 14 pound release, and Alex had a 13 pound release. There was a few other 10-13 pound releases.
The action right out of the gate was good, with a steady pick of fish. Once the current slacked up so did the chew. We made a move to another spot, that was completely lifeless. Our action picked back up toward the end of the day when we got our current back, but we fought terrible conditions with light wind working against the tide.
Managed 23 for the box, with some dandy releases. Plenty of SeaBass to keep everyone busy. Sure is a shame we keep having tighter regulations on Bass every year. There’s more of them then ever.
Not sure when I’ll post another open boat trip, we’re starting to get back to where we are chartered most of the time. If I see a window when we are free, I’ll be sure to post it. Thanks Guys!!
Thanks Hunter Bounds Captain Hunter's Addiction for the new wheel😁😁
Yesterday’s Open boat trips saw much better action for the group. Pat Scida got his new PB at 18+ pounds, with a healthy release. Harris had our next largest a big 14 pound male. There was 5 other fish over 10 that were scattered around the rail, and released healthy.
The bite wasn’t on fire, but steady enough to keep everyone fishing hard. By the end of the day everyone had their 3 fish per person, and released a few more.
I’m watching the weather, hopefully for another open boat trip this week. I’ll post if and when I decide to run one. Thanks Guys!!
Weather got me good today!!
Our plan was to leave at 5am for a long trip🙄. Went to bed last night with light NW wind, woke up to 20-25 knots NE seas 8 feet every 6 seconds at the Light Ship.
Met everyone at the boat at 430am, gave the guys the option to wait till 8am, and see if we can sneak out inshore. Guys we’re all for it, so that’s what we did. Winds did back off, but the swell did not. Stayed close to the beach, and never really could get much going. Our best sign of life was when the sun was out. When it clouded back up the chew we had stopped. Managed 11 fish to 11 pounds for the box, and gave everyone a half off fare.
Our CG inspection is next week, so not sure when I’ll post another open boat trip. One thing for sure it will be on a day when the winds cooperate. Thanks Guys!!
