Fish Bound Charters

1 day 4 hours ago

Three days to report on since our last report. All three days saw a challenging bite, with Sundays trip a all out grind.
Friday we took a longer paddle. It was tuff to get through the SeaBass, but we fished through them. Guys boxed up 22 fish, and released a few more healthy ones up to 10 pounds.
Saturday stayed a little closer to home, with the forecast. Guys worked the drops over pretty good. We had 5 DD fish with Brian’s 15+ pounder topping the list. Guys released a few, and only kept 19 for their box.
Sunday was a grind from start to finish. Scratchy not committing fish. Tried a bunch of different drops with all the same results. Guys boxed up 16 fish, with Garrets 9 pounder topping the list.
This Captain is headed out for a few weeks for a much needed Vacation without the Geometry😂. Thanks Guys!!

We were very fortunate with the weather this week, and we’re able to get out four days.
The cold snap the week before with the stiff North wind, dropped the water temps a bit, and made for a scratchier bite. Our groups all still worked hard, and managed their boat rule of 3 per man. Each day saw a few releases with 2-4 DD fish per day. Spikes 18+, and Chris 16+ were the largest for the week.
Looks like some Breezy conditions ahead, hopefully we will be able to sneak out a few days towards the end of the week. Thanks Guys!!

Only 2 days to report on since my last report, Mother Nature has again let the Fan Rip.
We had back to back days with Ken’s group, and the weather Gods smiled on him.
Day one we saw some decent action first thing, where the group started picking away at the keeps. The next few spots was only a grind plucking a couple here and there. Our last drop of the day was the best where we boxed up the rest of our fish, and released a few up to 9 pounds.
Day 2 saw some better action all day, with some Dandy’s including Jens 23.4 pound Brute that will be the largest ever landed by a Lady Angler, and makes 14 Togs over 20 for the boat. Few other nice ones for the day at 16,13,11,and 10. Guys boxed up their boat rule 3 per man, and released the rest.
I constantly get asked about open spots and availability. As always our book opens in Sept for the following year, that’s when you can book a Charter for Tog. I am the only one who runs these trips on the Fish Bound so dates are limited around my work schedule.
The good news is that this Feb, and March we will be running open boat trips around nice weather windows. I will announce the trips through the boats Facebook page. First 10 get the spots.
This is not a fishery for a impatient Angler. If you think you need to get bit immediately this isn’t the place for you. The patient Anglers are always the ones who fair the best. Swinging at every little scratch will not give you the chance for a Stud, it will just scare them away.
Hopefully back at it a few days this week. Thanks Guys!!

Working hard for our catches every day, but making it happen. Every trip since my last report the groups have managed to box up their Boat Rule limit of 3 per man, and release a few. We have also been fortunate to release at least a couple DD each trip, which has made for some happy anglers.
We have had to work super hard for these catches. Fishing 5-7 drops a day with OT has been the norm. Anglers who fish hard all day, and are patient have faired the best. Hopefully we will continue to see some nice Fish come over the rail throughout the Winter. Thanks Guys!!

We had some excellent weather for our trips since my last report. Some decent fishing also. One of our trips saw 19 DD for the day up to 19lbs 30.6”. Long time customer CJ managed his new PB at 17+ pounds.
Out of 4 trips run, we managed 23 DD with all but one safely released. Had our 2 largest tag return a fat 27 1/2” 15+ female that was previously tagged by Capt Monty.
Hopefully our 3 per person boat rule will help us all enjoy a healthy fishery in the future. Thanks Guys (Kevin posed with lots of fish because of shy customers

Two days of fishing, and both plenty sloppy. It has been a very windy December so far.
Sunday we had a pretty tuff chew, only landing 17 keepers for our box. We did have a few nice ones at 15,13, and 12 pounds.
We had a much better chew today, with a easy limit for the guys. Played catch and release the rest of the day, Ron had our largest release of the day at 12 pounds. Thanks Guys!!

We were able to do our maintenance on the Fish Bound, and get her back to work relatively quickly. Unfortunately Mother Nature has not been kind. Only two trips to report on.
Both days were Definitely a little Nautical, but our groups worked hard to get the job done. Yesterday our first drop saw a aggressive chew. Fish were chewing with plenty of quality fish up to 9 pounds. After that the action nose dived. Couldn’t get much going the rest of the day. Guys did manage their 24 fish up to 9 pounds , but there wasn’t any catch and release.
Today we saw a awesome chew, where the big fish were Growling. Guys went to work, keeping their 27 and releasing a bunch more. Plenty of 8-9 pound fish, with nine fish over 10 pounds. Including a pair of 15’s and a pair of 14’s. Hopefully sneak a few days after this Coastal Storm passes tomorrow. Thanks Guys!!

We were able to get three trips in since my last report, we’ve been in a pretty wild weather pattern lately.
Capt DJ took a groop of our regulars out for some offshore bass fishing. The first few spots were stacked with monster Blues making it impossible to get a bass through them. They pushed on, and we’re rewarded with monster bass. All quality with most in the 4 pound range .
Unfortunately the Fish Bound IV is out for some repairs, and to get our life raft serviced. She will hopefully be back in service by the middle of the month.
I was able to run two Tog trips. Monday saw some decent action all day with guys keeping their limit of 3 per man, and releasing a few up to 12 pounds. Yesterday was a different story. Very slow, the fish just wouldn’t commit to the baits. Fished long and hard for 12 keeper Togs, and 25 Bass for our group of 6. Thanks Guys!!
